[...] There was one night when the tape machine broke at a particularly awkward moment, when the band was really hot and we were just about to do the take. Everyone groaned and we were standing around, a little worried. And then June suggested that we hold hands and sing a hymn. Not something the Heartbreakers hear a lot. She said, "Maybe if we sing a hymn the Lord will hear us and fix the tape machine." So we said, "Well, OK..." and damn if we didn't sing the hymn and 30 seconds later they came out with, "OK, we've got it." I was really impressed by that.
